We select the highest quality pure oils from around the world, such as organic extra virgin olive oil , organic Unrefined coconut oil ,avocado oil , sweet almond oil, hemp oil, palm oil, jojoba oil, and soy oil to name a few. We also use rich butter and other rich oils to enhance the moisturizing capabilities of the soap, butter, and oils like cocoa butter, organic Un-refined Shea butter mango butter, honey, aloe vera, castor oil, lanolin oil, Essential oils, natural herbs, natural safe fragrance oils add to the soap's fragrance.
Natural herbs, powders, and clays add color to our soap; botanicals and other natural ingredients add texture and exfoliate. Our handcrafted soaps
are also made with such things as oatmeal, sliced almonds, rosemary leaves, lavender leaves and buds, and other goodies that provide light, gentle exfoliation for your skin.
Most of our handcrafted soaps are enriched with additional oils that are suspended in the soap and applied directly to the skin while bathing, providing even more moisturization.
They are hand-poured and cut, so their weight and shape may vary!
Cold Process soap needs to slowly "cure" over time.
We allow our soaps to naturally air cure for six to ten weeks and up to 2 years.
During the first two weeks of curing, the saponification process is completed.
"Saponification is the chemical reaction that occurs when fats or oils (fatty acids)come into contact with lye (a base.) Saponification means "soap making" from the root word, "sapo", which is Latin for soap. The by-products of the saponification reaction are glycerin and soap."
As the soap continues to cure, most of the water used in the recipe evaporates. The curing process ensures a milder, harder, longer-lasting bar, with rich lather.
